Coach Isamu Nigro

After completing his undergraduate degree in economics and kinesiology at Rice University, Isamu pursued his academic endeavors and earned his master’s degree in business administration from UC Davis.  Isamu’s passion for baseball influenced him to return to the sport by coaching youth.  In 2011, he became an assistant baseball coach at Foothill High School in Pleasanton, where he continues to provide hitting and fielding instruction.

Experience

  • Five seasons playing baseball at the NCAA Division I and NAIA levels.  From 2000-200 
  • Rice University baseball team 2000-2002 (reached NCAA Regional, Super Regional and College World Series in 2000, 2001 and 2002, respectively)
  • Transferred to California Baptist University (starting center fielder and leadoff hitter, he compiled an on-base percentage of .372 and a fielding percentage of 1.000, recording 86 putouts and 3 assists.  In 2004, he helped lead the team to the NAIA Regional tournament final.)
  • Foothill High School Assistant Coach 2012-2015

Philosophy

Isamu believes all players can achieve success in this game through focus and effort. Isamu believe players will find success at the next level through structured training assisted by technology.
